The Vole

Over Martin Luther King's Day weekend we went to the cabin with my family. It was a great get away and the kids had a blast snowmobiling and sledding. I'll post more pictures later, but I did want to post about our creature feature. Now my parents have had our cabin since I was about 12 years old, and it's a very old cabin, but we love it. We take very good care of it, but since it is in the great outdoors, mice tend to get in to the cabin. We have traps set and we haven't had a mouse in a LONG time. We did have a squirrel die once inside the cabin, but that's another story, and that was a long time ago as well. So getting on to this trip to the cabin we found something in the traps. Dad is the designated disposer of items found in traps, but he had to show us that it wasn't a mouse. It was a vole. What is a vole you say....well we had to take pictures because the kids thought it was awesome.

They are very tiny creatures, and aren't as pesky as mice. Anyway we disposed of them and had a good laugh over them because they reminded Daniel and myself of a King of the Hill episode. Hope you have a giggle..we sure do. Here is the clip
